Here, I have a rose.
I thought you might want it, with its little petals as soft as the whisper of a lover, and the dewdrops clinging to its innocent harlequin leaves.
You see, I liked its color.
I suppose it isn’t really anything special, not red like a fire or pink like a blush, just smooth and whiter than a dove, more like purity.
It’s childish, but I hope you’ll keep it.
It isn’t my place to give it to you, though, because as much as I cup it in my hands, and breathe Purity of a Rose

Former "poetry" account of ~oakendragon

I looked through my gallery today and started deleting works I didn't like. Before I knew it, my gallery was reduced to three Deviations: a) the titular work of the account; b) a poem that was featured in someone's journal that I'm not really happy with but am flattered was featured; and c) a work I couldn't bring myself to delete even though I don't really like it.

So I'm closing this account. I'm embarrassed to have ever posted my "poetry" up here. I only ever wrote one good poem, which won me an honorable mention in a national poetry contest, and I'm certainly not putting it up here. I like it too much for that.

I don't know if I'll ever come back to this account. Maybe I will just to delete the last trio of poems still clinging to my gallery, sometime when I'm ready to finally let this go for good.

Looks like, finally, she is forgotten.
